The Grand Prix(za) was my final assignment for my program at Sheridan College. The assignment asked us to reimagine a popular childhood fairy tail and turn in into a video. I pitched the idea of reimagining the the tortoise and the hare, which ended up being the tale we would eventually make into a video. The idea is that these 2 employees for a pizza place; Brad and Frank, are told by their boss that whoever delivers more pizzas by the end of the night gets a suprise bonus. Brad has a car to deliver the pizzas (hare), while Frank only has his bike (tortoise), so on paper it seems like this would be an easy win for Brad. Just like the fairytale, the tortoise ends up winning despite the insane odds. Brad would get red lights, hit potholes, have people walking in front of him, and his car would end up breaking down. By the end, Frank recieves his bonus at the end of the night, which is a dinner date ticket for 2. We thought it would would be funny if in the end we made Frank and Brad go out together, which is where the video ends. This video was differnt from the others because it required a lot more pre-production work than usual. We created a properly formatted script, script breakdown, shot list, storyboarding, etc.
